Enter Key, Shift Keys, Control Keys, Backspace Key, Caps Lock Keys and Space Bar Key.

Answer:

ENTER KEY: A key that moves the cursor to the beginning of the next line. It also returns control to whatever program is currently running.

 SHIFT KEYS: It gives the other keys an alternate meaning. When combined with alphabetic keys, the Shift key causes the system to out.

CONTROL KEYS:

These keys are used for moving the cursor in different directions, i.e Up, Down, Left, and Right around the screen.

BACKSPACE KEY: It causes the cursor to move backward one character space, possibly deleting the preceding character.

CAPS LOCK KEYS: It is a toggle key on computer keyboard. When it is activated it causes all subsequent alphabetic characters tobe uppercase, but has no effect on otherkeys.

SPACE BAR KEY: It is a bar at the bottom of the keyboard. When it is pressed down introduces a horizontal space into text, as between words.

The cursor is a flashing bar.  It indicates the position where the next character appears on the screen. It is also called an Insertion Point.

in diameter. It has a switch and a card that is connected to the computer.

PURPOSE:

It is used to educate the children or for engineering designing
purposes.

HOW DOES A SCANNER WORK:

1-    The scanner sends a beam of light to the page and then measures the amount of light reflected back.

2-    White reflects all of the light, black reflects no light .

3-    The amount of light for each portion is given a digital code which is sent to the computer.

Microprocessor is the main part of a system unit. It is the brain of the computer. This device processes data. Another name of  microprocessor is CPU(CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT).

ii-Define RAM.

RAM: (Random Access Memory)

         It is a temporary memory of a computer. Computer places the given information in this memory.

VOLATILE:

All programs are loaded into RAM. When a computer is turned off or power failed every information or data present in RAM is deleted.

AVAILABLITY:

RAM is available in the shape of memory chips which are mounted on the Main Board. We can add and remove a memory chip from the Main Board very easily.

HARD DRIVE: (Fixed Disk Drive)

    Hard drive is developed by’ IBM, first entered the computer world in 1973.

          It consists of several circular disk called platters. Data and instructions are stored on these platters. These drives are enclosed in an air tight sealed case.

PARTITIONS: It is divided into two or more partitions the first partition is designated Drive C and the second partition is Drive D and so on.

SPEED:  The speed of platters in the hard drive spin is measured by Revolution Per Minute (RPM). The higher the RPM, the faster the hard drive can find and record data on the platters.
